Southend United Football Club is an English Football club, discharged in 1906 and since season 2008/2009 playing in the Football League One. Their home games were played in Roots Hall in Prittlewell. The club is foundation in 1906and was one of the foundation of the Third division. In the year between 1932 and 1950 the club know ledged to finish on the 3e place and also go wrong for promotion. In the year 1966 the club degraded to the 4e division.
Up to and including 1991 the change a few times between this two divisions, but in the year 1991 get the club promotion to the Second division. In the year 1992 the club finished as 12e in these Second division, but the club get back after there. In the year 2003 became old player Steve Tilson as manager. In the year 2004 took the club his first finale ever, that from the LDV Vanus Trophy. These finale is loosed with 2 – 0 from Blackpool FC.
One year later the same finale is also loosed with 2 – 0 but now from Wrexham FC, but by way of play offs wrest promotion to the Football League. On April 29 in the year 2006 get the club promotion to the Football League Championship and one week after that the club was Champion of the Football League one.
They stayed only one season in the Second League as they degraded directly.
